DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FROM MERCYLAND MINISTRIES THURSDAY 21 JANUARY, 2021.
Topic: Choose Joy
Today’s Scripture: Psalms 128:2, (NIV) “You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”
Message: Did you know that having a life full of joy and fulfillment is a matter of choice? Joe Biden determined, made a choice to relentlessly pursue the ambition of becoming USA president for decades before he eventually got it yesterday (Wednesday 20 January2021). Many people are not living in victory today because they have walked around with a chip on their shoulder. They are constantly complaining, always dwelling on what they don’t have. They’re focusing on their problems, when God expects them to focus on praising Him.
Let me encourage you to stay out of that trap. Wake up every morning and begin each new day by counting your blessings. Take time to make a list. Write down at least ten things that you are thankful for. Whatever your situation in life, find things to add to the list.
Keep your list in a place where you can see it every day. When you feel yourself getting negative, when you’re beginning to get discouraged, check your list; read it out loud. Focus on all of the blessings that God has given you. Begin to thank Him for what He has already done for you and for all that He has in store for your future.
Give God an offering of thanksgiving every day. As you begin to express your appreciation and praise to the Lord, you will begin to see Him pour out His blessings and favour in greater portions, and you’ll experience the overcoming life of victory He has in store for you.
*Prayer for Today: God, I am making the decision today to be a grateful person! You have richly blessed me and I am going to count those blessings everyday. When I make a daily list of 10, it will be in honour of You. In Jesus’ name – Amen.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS: We are all blessed, but the problem is that some of us count their blessings while others count their struggles, challenges and obstacles.” Stop counting your problems. Grace to start counting your blessings with gratitude no matter how small or big they are is given to you. Ability to stop letting your lacks blindfold you from noticing how blessed you are is released unto you. A popular LYRICS song says: “When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings; name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done”. As you count your blessings with heart of gratitude to God, you shall be loaded with pleasant surprises of bountiful blessings. As you give God all the glory, honour, praises and adoration for all He has done and all He will do, you shall eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity shall be yours in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
