DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FROM MERCYLAND MINISTRIES MONDAY 17 MAY 2021.
Topic: When Weeds Spring Up.
Today’s Scripture: “Jesus told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.’” Matthew chapter 13 verses 24 and 25, (NIV). NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION.
Message: Jesus is telling a parable in Matthew 13 about a man who went out to his field and planted wheat in the ground. He sowed good seed. This represents that he was doing the right thing, honouring God with his life, and being good to others. But while he slept, an enemy came in and planted weeds. The man didn’t know what had happened. He was expecting to have a great harvest; after all, he did all the right things. But the weeds sprang up among his wheat. Sometimes, things happen in life. Weeds spring up that we didn’t have anything to do with. The key is to keep the right attitude and stay focused on the goodness of God. When these unexpected challenges happen, we can say, “It’s just another weed. I didn’t sow it. I don’t have to reap it.” By saying that, we can then keep the door open for God to move on our behalf.
Today, don’t let the weeds take root. Maintain your position as someone that carries Holy Spirit in his/her person. The weeds you knew nothing about could be as a result of family generational curses. Jesus has made a way of escape. Don’t let discouragement creep. Instead, lift up your eyes of faith to what your Father God can do through the anointing that breaks the yoke. Give us a phone call. We’ll pray together with you, and the yoke shall be broken. As you keep believing and trusting the Lord, deliverance shall surely come.Weeds that disturb your peace shall be uprooted. Plenty good harvest shall come your way without unnecessary sweat! Hallelujah!
Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word which sets me free. Help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You. Give me Your peace as I uproot the weeds and focus on the harvest that You have for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Prophetic Declaration: In Matthew chapter 15 verse 13 (NKJV), our Lord Jesus Christ says: “ … Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted”. I declare and declare, any kind of weeds that enemy came and sowed among the wheat in your life, in your family/children, in your business shall be uprooted. No more springing up of weeds in your wheat. Your time of unprecedented harvest has come. You shall serve your Lord God in peace and in plenty in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
