DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FROM MERCYLAND MINISTRIES SUNDAY 04 JULY 2021.
Topic: Celebrate Freedom.
Today’s Scripture: Now “You have been set free from sin…” Romans chapter 6 verse 18, (NIV). NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION.
Message: Every nation has Independence Day. Today America celebrates Independence Day. July 4, 1776 was the day America declared their independence, but the battle for freedom went on until 1783—seven years later. Even though the people declared their freedom in 1776, they had to stand and fight for many years before the British would accept and recognize the United States of America. Agitation for freedom is a common battle. One is presently going on between Oodua people as a Nation inside Nigeria, and state of Nigeria in the West African sub-region. Some nations gained their freedom easy and quiet, while some gained it through severe violence and with civil war. Do you know what the early colonists did once they signed the Declaration of Independence? They read it out loud in public. They published it in the newspaper. They spread the word. They continued to declare and celebrate even though they were in the midst of the battle. The Oodua Nation that’s struggling to come out of Nigeria is presently doing the same.
In the same way, either as individuals or as a corporate body, we have to declare our freedom and be determined to stand against the opposing forces of darkness in our lives. We have to declare our freedom from oppression, addiction, poverty, sickness and lack. We have to stand and fight until we fully experience God’s freedom and the peace that He has promised. In the eyes of God, every individual is like a nation.
Today, no matter what battle you may be facing, declare that you are free and celebrate your freedom because victory is on the way!
Prayer for Today: Father, thank You for setting me free in every area of my life. I declare today that nothing can hold me back. I declare that You have set me free! Thank You for freedom and victory in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prophetic Declaration: There’s no nation or individual that can be free and enjoy freedom if God’s intervention is not permitted or invited. Our Lord Jesus makes this clear in John chapter 8 verse 36, (NIV), when He said: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”. I decree and declare that GRACE to permit God in all areas of your life to lead and direct is given to you. Wisdom with spiritual awareness not to fight battles of life in your own strength is released unto you. Determination, boldness and courage to confess and declare your freedom daily shall be yours. Ability to stand against the opposing forces of darkness is given to you. As America is celebrating their freedom today, you shall celebrate your freedom, and people will rejoice with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
