Topic: Be an Imitator of God.
Today’s Scripture: “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Ephesians chapter 5 verses 1 and 2, (ESV). English Standard Version.
Message: Have you ever spent time with a small child or baby and had them mimic your every sound or action? To them it’s a fun game, but internally, they are learning by watching and copying everything you do. They just observe and do the same thing. That’s because we are all wired to be imitators.
Born again Christians are referred to as God’s little children in the Bible, (that’s clearly stated in the First Epistle of John chapter 4 verse 4). Even as adults, we’re just like little children, we are all still imitators. So many people today end up imitating what they see in the world, on TV, in the news and magazines. But scripture tells us that we are to be imitators of God and follow His example of love. If you need to make a change in your life today, change what you are imitating. Change your focus. The more you focus on the Word, the more you will imitate God. When you do things God’s way, you will get God’s results—peace, joy and blessing all the days of your life!
Prayer for Today: “Father, I choose to put You first in my life and imitate You. I set aside the things of the world and invite You to search my heart and mind. Give me Your heart of love and let me be an example of Your goodness in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Prophetic Declaration: First John chapter 2 verses 15 and 17, (NIV) says: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever”. Grace to reject worldliness, but become an imitator of God is given to you. Philippians chapter 2 verse 5 (NKJV) says: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”. Ability to permit the mind of Christ to operate in your life is given to you. As you have the mind of Christ, no weapon formed against you shall prosper in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
JESUS SAID: “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. Revelation chapter 22 verse 12 (NIV). Are you ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Please give your life to Jesus.
