Topic: Encourage Yourself.
Today’s Scripture: “Further, David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him…But David felt strengthened and encouraged in the LORD his God.” First Samuel chapter 30 verse 6, (AMP) AMPLIFIED BIBLE.
Message: In the moment of crisis, when life challenges seem to be overwhelming, encouraging oneself is the best option. It’s good to have friends and family around to cheer you up when you’re down, but in order to truly live in victory, that encouragement has to come from the inside. When your mind is telling you it’s not worth it, when your circumstances seem difficult, and hope is seemingly not there; deep down inside, your spirit has to have the resolve that says, “I refuse to settle where I am. I will not surrender!” That’s what David had to do. He was facing a major setback. His family was captured, his city was destroyed, and his own people were now against him, but he still managed to encourage himself in the Lord. How did he do that? He replayed in his mind the victories from the past. He recounted God’s faithfulness. As he rehearsed over and over the goodness of God, strength began to rise in his heart. I had similar experience during my encounter with the armed robbers at Lagos, Nigeria. I’ve shared this testimony a number of times before. It’s however very fresh in my memory. At very close range, armed robbers opened fire on me with gun, and my intestines came out. I refused to surrender. I claimed the promises of God, and He (God) honoured my faith and returned me back to life on Sunday 16 December 2012.
There are so many places you can see the hand of God at work. Thank Him for saving you today. Thank Him for the miracle of life. Thank Him for His faithfulness. Focus on the fact that God didn’t bring you this far to leave you now. Stir up that inner strength and encouragement. As you do, you’ll rise higher and higher and live the life of victory the Lord has prepared for you.
Prayer for Today: Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness today. I choose to focus on You and the good things You have prepared for my future. I thank You for making a way out of no way, and I will bless You always in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prophetic Declaration: I decree and declare that you shall receive GRACE and spiritual awareness to see yourself as God sees you. How God sees you is recorded in the First Epistle of John chapter 4 verse 4, (ESV), where the scripture says: “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Living Faith that overcomes challenges of life is released unto you. From today, you shall continue to be a winner and not a looser in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
JESUS SAID: “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. Revelation chapter 22 verse 12 (NIV). Are you ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Please give your life to Jesus.
