Topic: The Third Day.
Today’s Scripture:
“He was buried…he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”. First Corinthians chapter 15 verse 4, (NIV). New International Version.
Message: Today is called Good Friday because it commemorates the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today is pivotal in our faith due to the fact that it led to the ultimate sacrifice for humanity’s sins and forgiveness. The “good” in Good Friday is not referring to the event itself, but rather to the positive outcome of hope, possibility of salvation and eternal life through Jesus’s death at Calvary on that first Good Friday. As we get ready to honour the resurrection of Christ this weekend, I think about when they crucified Jesus. On that Friday, it was the darkest, most painful, very discouraging day of Jesus life that was made to become “Good Friday” for all His followers. In fact, it was so bad that He sweat drops of blood. It looked as if Jesus enemies had gotten the best of Him. But God had other plans. They put Him in the grave on Friday, celebrating their victory, but Sunday morning it was a different story. The grave could not hold Him! Death couldn’t contain Him! The forces of darkness couldn’t stop Him! On the third day, He came out of the grave and said, “I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore!” HALLELUJAH!!!
Prayer for Today: Father, thank You for completing what You started in my life. I trust that no matter how dark things may seem, You are my shining light of hope. Thank You for working behind the scenes to carry me through to the place of victory in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prophetic Declaration: The principle that the resurrection teaches is that God will always finish whatever He started. No matter how dark it looks, no matter how long it’s been, no matter how many people are trying to push you down; you shall receive tenacious faith, and permit God to take you from Friday to your “resurrection” Sunday. The Third Day shall come and God will complete whatever He started in you, and victory shall be yours in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
JESUS SAID: “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. Revelation chapter 22 verse 12 (NIV). Are you ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Please give your life to Jesus.
