Article of Faith

Welcome to the Mercyland Ministries International web site. Foremost, this ministry is dedicated to the preaching of the Gospel worldwide through demonstration of resurrection power of our Lord and Saviour to heal, deliver and make successful journey unto salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

OUR ARTICLE OF FAITH – WHAT WE BELIEVE

1. The Scripture
We believe the Bible both old and new Testaments to be verbally inspired word of God, and are revelation of God to man. It is the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct as it is expressed in:

II Timothy 3:15-17 (NKJV) 15. And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17. that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2. The Trinity
We believe in the one true God, who has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent.
He is the creator of heaven and earth and the redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but of the same God.

Isaiah 43:10 “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord , “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.”
Matthew 28:19 (NKJV) “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
Jesus said in John 10:30 (NKJV): “I and My Father are one.”

3. The Doctrine of Sin (The Fall of Man)
We believe that man was created good and upright in the beginning, for God said “let us make man in our image, after our likeness,” However, man through Adam was deceived by the devil and by voluntary transgression, fell and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God his creator. Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6 and Romans 5:12-19.

Genesis 1:26-27 (NKJV) “(26) Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (27) So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. “

Genesis 2:16-17(NKJV) “(16) And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; (17) but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Genesis 3:6-8 (NKJV) (6) ‘So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

(7) Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. (8) And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.’

Romans 5:12-19 (NKJV): (12) Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—(13) For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

(14) Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

(15) But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. (16) And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned.

For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. (17) For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

(18) Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

(19) For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

4. The Incarnation of Jesus Christ and Virgin Birth
We believe that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. He is the Word of God that manifested as man; the manifestation of God that became flesh.

He was conceived and birthed supernaturally by the Holy Spirit. John 1:1-3 and verse 14; I Thessalonians 2:13 and I Timothy 3:16.
John 1:1-3 and verse14 (NKJV) (1) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

(2) He was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

I Thessalonians 2:13 (NKJV) “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.”
I Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.”

5. Eternal Life and Salvation
We believe in the atonement which God perfected through His son Jesus Christ that gives eternal life. God redeemed man back to Himself through sacrificial death of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. Through Christ, man can now return to God and receive regeneration of heart that results into salvation.

I John 5:12, II Corinthians 7:10.
I John 5:12 (NKJV) “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. ‘
II Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV) “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”

6. The Blood Atonement
Man can only enjoy everlasting eternal life with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ that washes away sins and gives new life. Romans 3:10 & 14; 5:14.
Romans 3:10 (NKJV) “As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one”
Romans 3:22 (NKJV) ”even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; ‘
Romans 5:14 (NKJV) “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.”

7. The Resurrection of Jesus
We believe that the work of the Cross is made complete by the indisputable fact of the resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. John 11:25-26 (NKJV) 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
John 11:25-26 (NKJV) “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

I Peter 1:3 (NKJV) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

8. The Return of Jesus
We believe in the Blessed Hope, that Jesus, our Lord and Messiah, will return in the near future.
James 5:8 Matt 16:27 Acts 1:11 (NKJV)
James 5:8 (NKJV) “You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.”

Acts 1:11 (NKJV) “who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

9. Water Baptism
We believe that water baptism is a direct command of our Lord and is for true believers only. Water baptism is a symbol of the Christians identification with Jesus in his death, burial and resurrection and it should be done in the name of Jesus.
Matthew 28:19 Acts 2:36, Acts 8:36-39.

Matthew 28:19 (NKJV) “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
Acts 8:36-38 (NKJV) “Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” So he commanded the chariot to stand still.

And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”’

10. Resurrection from the Dead
We believe that after this earthly life, we’ll all be resurrected, some to eternal life and some to eternal damnation. I Thessalonians 4:17-18 (NKJV)
I Thessalonians 4:17-18 (NKJV) ”For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

11. Eternal Judgement
We believe that someday, all will stand in judgement before our creator. Those who have placed their faith fully in Christ for their salvation will be judged as righteous, based on the blood of Jesus.

Those who have died without a relationship with Christ will be hopeless and eternally lost and condemned to the lake of fire. Matt 25:31-32 Heb 9:27

Matthew 25:31-32 (NKJV) ”All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory”

Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV) ”And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment”

12. The Ministry
We believe in divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry that has been provided by our Lord Jesus for a twofold purpose.
1. For the evangelization of the world.
2. For the edifying of the body of Christ.
Mark 16:15-20 Ephesians 4:11-13

Mark 16:15-20 (NKJV) ”(15) And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (16) He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

(17) And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

(18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (19) So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

(20) And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”

Ephesians 4:11-13 (NKJV) “(11) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, (12) for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, (13) till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”

13. Healing and Deliverance
We believe in divine healing and deliverance that comes from the Holy Spirit (the Healer, deliverer and Comforter) which He does through His vessel (anointed minister). It is the devil that puts sin, sickness and other bad things in the lives of people, but Jesus has come to give life and also to destroy the works of the devil. (John 10:10)

John 10:10 (NKJV) “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”

The Gospel of Jesus has given the awareness that healing and deliverance from all forms of satanic oppression has been provided for in the atonement on the Cross of Calvary by Jesus. It is the privilege and right of all believers to enjoy it by faith and through faith.
Isaiah 53:4-5 Matthew 8:16-17 James 5:14-16.

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NKJV) (4)“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. (5) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

Matthew 8:16-17 (NKJV) (16) “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, (17) that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”

James 5:14-16 (NKJV) (14) “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

(15) And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (16) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. ‘

14. Laying on of Hands and the Use of Anointing Oil
We believe that the power and anointing of God can be transferred from a Spirit-filled believer to others through the laying on of hands. Mark 16:17-18

James 5:13-15 (NKJV) “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

15 .Spiritual Gifts
We believe that every Christian is given various spiritual gifts. Every Christian has the responsibility before God to discover what these gifts are and to use them for His glory, for the church’s edification and for the fulfilling of the Great commission.
Ephesians 4:11
Ephesians 4:11-12 (NKJV) “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

16. Sonship
We believe that every Christian has the right and responsibility to manifest Son-ship that fully matures spiritually into the image of Christ. This includes maintaining high standards of holiness and discipline as well as taking on the full responsibilities and privileges of sons and daughters of God.

Matthew 5:48; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 3:19
Matthew 5:48 (NKJV)“Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

Romans 8:29-30 (NKJV) (29) “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

(30) Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
Ephesians 3:19 (NKJV) “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
